Floyd Holsinger

Floyd Holsinger, a graduate of the class of 1956, was inducted into the WHS Hall of Fame posthumously.  Floyd is fondly remembered as a kind and generous man who would lend a helping hand to a stranger.  He was a successful businessman from very humble beginnings.  Floyd was also a resident of Hillcrest Children’s Home.

Floyd and his brother Bob created Bob & Floyd’s Tire Sales in 1956.  The business still thrives today because of the business principles Floyd insisted upon from the beginning.

Floyd was an active community servant along the paths his life led him.  He was a member of Nauvoo Methodist Church and a great supporter of youth organizations like Little League, Del Rice, 4-H and Girl Scouts.

He was married to Phyllis Noel Holsinger for 31 years.  They had three children; Floyd Christopher, Christy (Dever), and John.

Mr. Floyd Holsinger served our nation through the Army Reserves and served our community with a great passion.  Phyllis Holsinger was present to receive the award.
