Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen – The Accuplacer test is used to determine College Credit Plus eligibility. If you would like to register to take the Accuplacer test at the high school, reply to this email by January 15.

Fluor-BWXT STEAM Scholarship
Seniors - Since 2011, Fluor-BWXT Portsmouth (FBP) has proudly awarded more than $210,000 in scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the four-county area. FBP has remained committed to being an active corporate leader in the communities that have supported nuclear and environmental remediation missions at the Department of Energy’s Portsmouth site for nearly 65 years. It is the mission of FBP to create opportunities for area students to excel in the areas of Science, Engineering,
Technology, Arts* and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.). Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above and have been accepted to attend an accredited college or university with a major in a S.T.E.A.M. field. The scholarships, each valued at $2,000, will be awarded one time to 12 area students. The application is attached and available on the guidance website. The deadline is Friday, March 5.
Duduit Memorial Scholarship
Seniors – Selection of the recipient for this scholarship will be based on the qualities referred to by Mrs. C. Harold Duduit in the establishment of this scholarship fund. The selection criteria shall include selecting a student or students with “primarily a deserving financial need with evidence of self-help, motivation, and experience; should have demonstrated ability to be successful in post-high school education or training; should have shown a positive attitude toward school and community citizenship; should have shown high acceptable moral and ethical values.” The application is available on the guidance website. March 12 deadline.
Robert Schwamberger “Make a Difference” Scholarship
Seniors – Selection of the recipient for this scholarship will be based on community service. Another important factor is major of study. The scholarship committee will also consider students who have overcome or are overcoming obstacles. The application is available on the guidance website. March 16 deadline.
Scioto Foundation Scholarships
Seniors - To apply, go to www.sciotofoundation.org. Click on “Scholarship Application” at the bottom of the page. The application will be available December 14 and you have until Wednesday, March 17, at 5:00 p.m. to complete your application. All required letters of recommendation must be received online by Sunday, March 21, at 5:00 p.m.
Wheelersburg Education Association Scholarship
Seniors – One scholarship will be awarded to a member of this year’s graduating class. The student must enter college in the fall and pursue a degree in education. The application is available on the guidance website. March 24 deadline.
Ethan Pauley Memorial Scholarship
Seniors – To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a senior at Wheelersburg High School and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The application is available on the guidance website. March 31 deadline.
Advanced Placement Payment
Students who are taking an Advanced Placement test must pay $31 before April 1. Grant money has been used to pay for second and/or third Advanced Placement tests. If you receive free or reduced lunch, you do not have to pay for any Advanced Placement test. See Mrs. Barrick to pay for this test.
College Credit Plus 2021-2022
Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors – If you would like to participate in College Credit Plus for the 2021-2022 school year, the College Credit Plus intent form must be completed by April 1. This form must be completed each school year. CCP Intent Form
College Credit Plus 2021-2022 – Shawnee State University
Freshmen, sophomores and juniors – Shawnee State University’s College Credit Plus is available at https://www.shawnee.edu/areas-study/college-credit-plus. Once you apply, reply to this email and your transcript will be sent to Shawnee State University. This form is for Shawnee State University classes offered online, on campus or in the high school building. The application deadline is April 9.
PB&J Scholarship
Seniors – The PB&J Scholarship is for students who have experienced personal challenges that may not have allowed them to perform well academically. A high grade point average is not needed to apply. This scholarship is open to high school seniors attending an accredited two year or four year college in the United States. Visit bit.ly/pbjscholarship2021. The application deadline is May 31.
