ACT Registration Workshop
An ACT Registration Workshop will be offered on Thursday, October 5, in the library conference room.  Bring a credit card or debit card (or be able to get the information from a parent during the session) to register for the December and/or February ACT.  Juniors and seniors who qualify for free/reduced lunch can register for free.  Students who register for the workshop will be assigned a time to attend.  Reply to this email to register for the workshop.

Carpenters Training Center
There will be an open house at the Grayson campus of the Regional Council of Carpenters on October 10 and October 11 from 9:00-2:00.  Contact Zach Durham at 606-420-4072 for more information.
SCCTC Adult Education - Juniors and Seniors only
A representative from the SCCTC Adult Education programs will be here on Wednesday, October 11, at 9:35 to discuss programs that can be taken after you graduate from high school.  Programs include Information Technology, Southern Ohio Police Academy, Firefighting, Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant, Dental Assisting, Medical Assisting, Nurse Aide, Pharmacy Technician, Practical Nursing, Phlebotomy, Surgical Technology, Industrial/Constructional Electricity, Industrial Maintenance, Power Line Mechanic, and Welding.  Reply to this email to register to meet with the representative.

ASVAB - Juniors and Seniors only
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military.  The test will be given at several locations in Scioto County.  Reply to this email for more information.

High School Heisman - Seniors only
The Heisman Trophy Trust will award $128,000 in scholarships to the nation's most accomplished and community-minded male and female senior scholar-athletes.  Winners from each high school will compete for 100 scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 along with recognition at the state and national levels.  Go to heismanscholarship.com to apply.  The 
deadline is October 17.  

Honors Diploma Workshop
An Honors Diploma Workshop will be offered on Thursday, October 19, in the library conference room to discuss the new Honors Diploma graduation requirements and write an Honors Diploma Graduation Plan.  Grades nine and ten must use the new requirements.  Grades eleven and twelve can use the old requirements or new requirements.  Students who register for the workshop will be assigned a time to attend.  Reply to this email to register for the workshop.

Scioto County Career Technical Center Recruiting Day - Sophomores only
Representatives from the Scioto County Career Technical Center will be here on Friday, October 20, at 2:00 to meet with all sophomores to discuss programs and the Hands-On Day.

College Credit Plus Informational Meeting - Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors only
There will be a College Credit Plus meeting on Thursday, October 26, at 7:00 p.m. for students interested in participating during the 2024-2025 school year.  Students can recieve both high school credit and college credit with this option.  College Credit Plus courses may be taken online, on the college campus, or at Wheelersburg High School.  Courses may be taken in the summer, fall and/or spring semester at qualifying colleges/universities.  Interested students should attend this meeting with a parent/guardian.  Students should bring their chromebooks.  

College Credit Plus - Ohio University Spring Semester Application
Ohio University Southern's spring semester application is available at https://admissions.ohio.edu/portal/application.  The deadline is November 1.
ACT
Go to actstudent.orgto register for the ACT.  Students with IEPs or 504 Plans who wish to register for the ACT should see Mrs. Davis to request accommodations for the ACT.  Juniors and seniors who receive free/reduced lunch receive two fee waivers to take the ACT for free; see Mrs. Davis to receive a waiver.  Students who have registered for the ACT who do not have a driver's licence or permit should see Mrs. Davis or Mrs. Barrick for an ACT ID.  November 3 is the registration deadline for the December 9 test.  

Advanced Placement Testing Forms
AP testing forms are due in the guidance office by Friday, November 10.
Financial Aid Workshop - Seniors only
There will be a financial aid workshop in Mrs. Belford's room on Wednesday, January 24, at 6:00 p.m. to help students and parents complete the FAFSA.  Students and parents will need their 2022 taxes, social security numbers, and driver license numbers.
