Wheelersburg School Community,
This afternoon, a student notified his bus driver that another student had a knife in their backpack. The driver took immediate safety steps and alerted school administrators.
Upon investigation, the backpack was found to contain a small pocketknife.
We want to reassure the community that all students are safe, and no injuries occurred. After removing the student from the bus, the driver and remaining students proceeded as usual.
Administrators are conducting a thorough investigation in collaboration with the Scioto County Sheriff's Office. We take student safety very seriously and are working closely with authorities to ensure appropriate actions are taken. As a precaution, we will continue to reinforce our safety protocols with both students and staff.
