The Wheelersburg Schools Alumni & Friends Foundation is thrilled to announce the awarding of grants totaling $7,500 to teachers in the Wheelersburg Local School District. These grants will fund innovative projects designed to enhance educational experiences, foster creativity, and support student achievement across the district.
The Wheelersburg Schools Alumni & Friends Foundation’s mission is to promote, enhance, and supplement educational programs for the benefit of students and faculty within the Wheelersburg Local School District. This year’s grant recipients exemplify these goals through their exceptional proposals:
- Shelby Gilliland, Wheelersburg Middle School: Awarded $744 for the proposal “Stream Table,” a dynamic, hands-on learning tool that will foster inquiry-based learning and critical thinking among students.
- Jessica McGraw, Wheelersburg Middle School: Awarded $850 for the proposal “Class Library – Individualized Daily Reading,” which will provide rich texts to inspire students, build their knowledge, and promote independent reading.
- Janeen Spradlin, Wheelersburg Elementary School: Awarded $4,206 for the proposal “Interactive Displays for the Elementary Classrooms,” funding technology that delivers engaging, interactive lessons in reading and math, contributing to enhanced student achievement.
- Heather Mullins, Wheelersburg Middle School: Awarded $1,700 for the proposal “WMS Tech Glow Forge Craft Laser,” a project that expands access to technology, encourages creative expression, and prepares students for the future.
