The Mathematics department offers courses for students of all abilities and prepares them for their future careers. College-bound students may opt for a four-year program or, by doubling math courses during the sophomore year, a five-year program. General students have various paths that they may follow, depending upon their future and needs.

Three years of mathematics are required for graduation.

The General program will emphasize:
  • Basic mathematical processes, including decimals, fractions, exponents, equations, averages, word problems, etc.
  • Introduction to algebra
  • Basic geometry

College-bound students will study:
  • algebraic concepts
  • geometry in both two- and three-dimensions
  • trigonometry
  • calculus
