Hello, my name is Chelsea Bentley. I am a third grade teacher here in pirate country. My husband, Noah and I have had an exciting year. We recently got married and found our first home, here in the Burg, with our two dogs. We have a lively labradoodle named Jackson and a magnificent maltese named Molly. We love to spend time outdoors together with friends and family. We also love to have "friendly" board game competitions (Noah may disagree but I usually win...). Together, we share a love and a passion for following Christ and being involved in our church.
When students come to room 1301, I want them to know they are safe and loved. Over the course of a year, we grow a lot while truly enjoying being together. We learn to treat others as we want to be treated and how to support one another. We walk away with the confidence to take chances and the knowledge to overcome challenges. We use our senses to learn in hands-on activities. Students and I read books that support strong phonemic and phonological awareness. In math, we use manipulatives to solve real world problems and begin adventuring into higher level skills. All the while, we are having fun and I just can't wait!
