My name is Carrie Gullett and I teach 5th grade English Language Arts. This is my seventh year in this position and my tenth year teaching ELA at WMS. I received my Bachelor's degree in Middle Childhood Education from Shawnee State University in 2009. I also completed my Master’s degree through the University of the Cumberlands as a Literacy Specialist.

I am extremely excited and proud to be teaching 5th grade!

In my classroom, we will focus on close reading of both literary and informational text. Students will learn to utilize a vast array of reading skills to aide them in recalling relevant and important information from what they read. We will also focus on writing in response to reading and developing skills to answer short-answer and extended response questions thoroughly and accurately.
