4th-grade learns about service dogs
Wheelersburg Middle School would like to thank Teresa Huddle for bringing in her therapy dog, Fancy, into Ms. Bentley’s 6th period class! The students have been discussing and reading literature in regards to service dogs. Fancy and Teresa brought a touching perspective to our 4th grade students about how humans and animals develop loving friendships that are critical to human care. Thank you Fancy and Teresa for becoming a part of the Pirate Family!
See You At The Pole
The SYAP started in Burleson, Texas in 1990 when a small group of teenagers met for a DiscipleNow weekend.
Twenty-eight years later on the 4th Wednesday in Sept millions of students across our country and in as many as 64 nations participate in this event at the flagpole of their schools to pray for their friends, family, school, community, and nation.
We have been doing SYAP since 2001 and have had as many as 100 students participate
Each year the SYAP has a particular Bible verse used as its theme. This year the verse was Ephesians 3:14 "I fall on my knees before the Father" and the theme was Broken.

Wheelersburg Baseball Backstop Project

We are looking to upgrade our current Varsity Baseball facility by building a new home plate area backstop. We are asking that community members help us in this endeavor by purchasing a “sponsor brick”. Each brick will be used to construct the three foot high wall that will extend between our first and third base dugouts. Each brick, either a 4x8 or 8x8, will include the sponsor’s name, accomplishment, or whatever they desire to showcase on the wall. Details to explain the costs of lettering are attached below:

Make a difference. Mentor a Pirate!
Would you be willing to put a smile on a student’s face? Do you have 30-60 minutes a week to spend time helping a child to learn to read? If so, do we have a place for you?!!! The Project MAP program is expanding to include fourth and fifth grade students at Wheelersburg Middle School! You have something to offer—volunteer! The more volunteers we have, the more students we can help. Mentoring for the middle school students will occur in the afternoon on Monday-Thursday. For more information, call: Mrs. Tina Green, Project MAP Coordinator, at 740-574-0641 / 740-935-8539 or e-mail her at Fill out the attached form and send to Mrs. Tina Green.
